Trust Your Gut
I’ve been asking my connections a lot about talent management and hiring recently.
The #1 opinion held my all of my connections is that their initial gut feeling about someone has always been proven right. They try to wishfully think that someone can “turn around” because they desperately need to fit a role, only to find that they ultimately waste their time, energy, and resources trying to make something work, when they knew from the start that it wouldn’t.
That is not to say it couldn’t, but in the world we live in there is no purpose in going against something that has been proven 100% correct by everyone who is successful.
Do not waste your time, energy, or resources on wishful thinking. Wishful thinking has bit you in the ass more times than not.
Think back to every time you have disobeyed your gut, and then came to find out your initial intuition was correct… Pretty annoying right?
So, the immediate feeling that you get about someone has to be the intuition that you listen to.
Listen to your gut.
