Pain Is Trying To Teach You...

You should listen.

Life is a continuous experiment to see which mix of inputs gives you the output you desire.

It’s also the process of figuring out what you desire.

When you don’t know what you desire, do not fill the void with pleasure to mask your painful reality. Instead, sit with your pain and let it tell you what you desire.

Pain is trying to tell you what you need to know.

The biggest growth periods in my life have been when I completely extract any form of pleasure form my life, and allow myself to face the pain the pleasure has been suppressing.

Pleasure makes you content.

On the contrary, results motivate you to get more results.

Allowing a period of pain to clarify what you desire can give you the direction to channel your energy in, and getting results in that direction will produce momentum.

The Process
Lost: Recognize you don’t know your true desire.
Extract Everything: Remove superficial distractions and pleasurable escapes.
Listen to Pain: Understand what the discomfort is telling you about your needs, goals, and values.
Clarify Desire: Articulate what you now know you really want.
Get Result: Take action in the direction of your clarified desire.
Increase Energy: Use the momentum of your results to fuel further results.

P.S. The longer you wait, the longer you suffer.
